Your expression of wish details lets the trustee know who you would like to receive any lump sum benefit in the event of your death.
 
You could choose family members, other significant people in your life, or an organisation such as a club or charity.
 
The trustee is not obliged to follow your wishes, but will always consider them.

Inheritance tax

The lump sum is paid at the trustee’s discretion, so it usually doesn’t form part of your estate and isn’t liable for inheritance tax. 

Update your expression of wish details

Defined Benefit members can register for and log into their online account to create and update their expression of wish. If you don't want to do this online, you can download and complete the DB members form below.

Members of the LifeSight Master Trust can review and update their expression of wish for any funds held in the LifeSight Master Trust by logging in to their LifeSight Account and completing their 'nominated beneficiary' details.

Life Assurance is also provided to all current employees. For employees who are not a member of the LifeSight Master Trust, please complete and return the form below.  

It’s important to keep your expression of wish details up-to-date. You should consider submitting a new form after a significant change in your circumstances, so the trustee knows your wishes are current. This will help the trustee make the right decision in the event of your death.
